109 Persons Completes NYDA Programme with KZN Dept of Social Development
A total of 109 young people from Jozini completed a youth development programme offered by the KZN Department of Social Development in partnership with the NYDA.
The graduation ceremony was officiated by the the KwaZulu-Natal Social Development MEC, Mrs Nonhlanhla Khoza, joined by the NYDA Officials and various stakeholders.
The programme is aimed at empowering youths from disadvantaged communities with skills in various fields, including electricity, plumbing, hospitality and driving. More than a thousand youths have completed the programme since its inception 10 years ago.
The programme was created as a measure to address challenges of unemployment due to low skills.
Young people also received toolkits to assist them apply their different trades.
