Climate Change needs Behavior Change Comic Strip Making Contest

This competition aims to make use of comic strips to help young people understand stories about climate change and how they can address it through behavior change. Attached shows the behavioral solutions to climate change, on which contestants may choose from.

Contest Rules:
a) Contestants will be asked to create a four (4) panel comic strip on a 8.27” x 11.69” (A4) size of paper with a corresponding title. The entry must be emailed with the filled up Entry Form to the following email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected] on or before 11:59 Midnight of November 4, 2019. b) Drawing should be digital. Contestant can only submit colored comic strip as his/her entry. No black and white entry will be accepted. There is no limitation for wording.
c) The use of excessive or overtly violent, sexual, offensive themes, graphics and language will not be allowed.
d) All entries must be the participants’ original works, which have never been published.
e) Entries must be submitted in JPEG or PNG format with at least 300dpi.
f) Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
a. Story and messages: 40%
b. Creativity, Impact and Relevance of theme: 20%
c. Artistic Skill: 20%
d. Originality: 20%

g) The top 10 winners will be chosen, with the following prizes, inclusive of tax:
a. First Prize: Php 10,000
b. Second Prize: Php 7,000
c. Third Prize: Php 5,000
d. 7 Consolation Prizes: Php 3,000 each
h) A Board of Judges shall be constituted for this purpose. The Judges’ decision is final, and unappealable.
i) All entries will become the property of the DENR Climate Change Service, for use in the advocacy programs of the Department. The name/s of contestant/s will be acknowledged when the material/s is/are used for print public advocacy purposes.

The contest is open to all students in universities and colleges in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Southern Tagalog. All contestants are required to submit their present school registration form for validation.
