2020 Kreative Diadem Annual Creative Writing Contest for Nigerian Poets and Writers (Up to 50K in prizes)
Entries are invited for the Kreative Diadem Annual Creative Writing Contest 2020. The contest is Kreative Diadem’s way of celebrating creativity, originality and everything in between. The 2019 edition has two genres: Poetry and Flash fiction.
Poetry: They love the way poems leave a trace of emotions everywhere. They are words that pierce the soul just to drop a message and even leave some eyes misty. It’s not compulsory to write like Shakespeare, they only need you to provoke their thoughts.
Flash Fiction: Writers live twice because even when they are no more, their stories do the talking for them. They love wickedly suspenseful fiction with twists here and there. Tell a unique story, make them believe it’s true and go home with a cash prize.
Prizes
The winners in the Poetry and Flash fiction categories will get the following prizes:
1st Prize – N30,000
2nd Prize – N15,000
3rd Prize – N5,000
2020 Kreative Diadem Annual Creative Writing Contest for Nigerian – Eligibility
- You must be 21 years or younger as at December 2020. Candidates older than this age will be disqualified automatically;
- Open to Nigerian residents alone. They are working actively on opening this opportunity to a wider audience but they are currently receiving entries from Nigeria alone;
- You can only submit one poem per entry.
Submission Guidelines
- The submitted work must be unpublished before submission.
- The maximum amount of words for the flash fiction category is 1, 500 words.
- For the poetry category, all poems must have a title.
- Poems should be original and should not exceed 40 lines.
- Every contestant is entitled to only ONE category.
- Please attach the entry itself as an MS-Word file. Save the MS-Word file in this format – “Full Name – Title of Entry”
- Format your work as follows: Times New Roman, font 12.
