SADIQ UMAR FOUNDATION (SUF) EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME 2021 FOR KWARA STATE NORTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT
The Foundation among others, provides funds for infrastructural development at schools, within Kwara North Senatorial District and as well implements its educational support programmes as part of its overall efforts to develop the human resources of its constituents.
SUF through its Educational Enhancement Scheme has enrolled and provided financial support to a total of 103 Students since inception, cutting across the 5 LGAs in Kwara North Senatorial Districts i.e. Baruten LGA, Edu LGA, Kaiama LGA, Moro LGA and PatigiLGA. The Scheme caters for the following programmes: PhD, Post Graduate Degree, Bachelor Degree/HND, NCE, Diploma and Secondary/Primary Education.
Successful Candidates are considered for financial support base on academic merit, professionalism and on some prevailing conditions that requires assistance.
SADIQ UMAR FOUNDATION (SUF) EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME 2021 ENROLLMENT/ELIGIBILITY FOR NEW BENEFICIARIES
The SUF Educational Enhancement Scheme covers the following awards:
1. Postgraduate (PG) Award i.e. PhD &M.Sc
2. Undergraduate (UG) Award.
3. Higher National Diploma (HND)/National Diploma (ND) Award.
4. National Certificate in Education (NCE) Award.
5. Secondary/Primary Education Award.
Applicants must fulfill the following criteria
(A). Must be an indigene of Kwara North.
(B). Must be a FULL-TIME student of a recognized TertiaryInstitution or Secondary/ Primary School as applicable.
(C). Must have a complete O’ level requirement in not more than 2 sittings forHND/ND, NCE, Undergraduate, and Post graduate Scholarship.
(D). Applicants must not be on another scholarship.
(E). Applicants must not have criminal record, and must be of good character.
(F). Postgraduate applicants must have completed the mandatory NYSC service scheme.
SADIQ UMAR FOUNDATION (SUF) EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME 2021 BASIC QUALIFICATION:
a. Postgraduate: All applicants for postgraduate scholarship should have a FIRST CLASS or 2nd CLASS UPPER DIVISION in their first degree.
b. Undergraduate: All applicants for an undergraduate scholarship must be in their 3rd year of studies or above and as might beapplicable. Must have at least 4.0 C.G.P.A on a 5 point Scale or its equivalent in line with academic grading.
c. HND/ND: All applicants must have 3.5 CGPA (Upper Credit Pass) the award covers ND II and HND II.
d. NCE: The award is for 2nd year and 3rd of NCE programme and candidates must have a minimum of 3.5 CGPA score on 5 point scale or its equivalent in line with academic grading.
Duration of Award:
The award for postgraduates is for one (1) year but subject to review by the SUF Committee; while undergraduate and NCE awards covers for two (2) years; on the other hand HND and ND covers for one (1) year only.
NB: Special consideration will be given to professional courses such as: Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing Science, Engineering, I.T etc. In the same vein, students with special needs or situation i.e. indigent student or students fromeducationally disadvantaged rural communities across the 5 Local Government Areas of Kwara North will be given priority. This award which shall not be held at the same time with another scholarship scheme, takes effect immediately you are offered letter of award by the SUF Committee.
Method of Application
Application forms are to be completed online. Applicants must go through all instructions before completing the online form and the following documents should be uploaded (ALL DOCUMENT MUST BE CLEAR):
i. Letter of Admission to the Institution.
ii. Current Course Registration Form.
iii. CGPA result(s).
iv. Current School Identity Card.
v. Letter of identification from applicant’s Local Government/Certificate of Origin.
vi. Passport sized photograph.
vii. Last session examination result.
viii. Relevant Certificates acquired.
