About the Kenya Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship Programme
Public Service Commission, in partnership with Emerging Leaders Foundation (ELF) , on 23rd November 2021, launched “The Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship Programme” at the Kenya International Convention Center (KICC).
The Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship programme is an intergenerational effort to re-engage Kenya’s youth in public service and administration, by driving the recruitment of young, ethical talent into public service, to improve government delivery and citizen outcomes and influence long-term social policy and change.
The programme seeks to train, mould and mentor emerging leaders in the public service.
The launch and signing of a memorandum of understanding was witnessed by Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Public Service, Gender, Senior Citizens, and Special Programmes Prof. Margaret Kobia, PSC Vice-Chairperson Ms. Charity Kisotu, Commission Secretary Dr. Simon Rotich, PSC Commissioners and ELF representative Ms. Yawa Hansen.
Applicant Requirements include:
- Must have served as an employee of the Public Service Commission in any State Department for a period of between six (6) months and ONE (1) year;
- Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university;
- Have graduated in the year 2015 or later; and
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications.
The fellowship is a 12-month program, offering a certificate on successful completion of the program.
50 applicants will be selected. The program curriculum includes responsive training, hands-on mentorship, community service engagement and continuous career development support.
