AgriBiz Incubation Program 2020 for Kenya Women & Youth Owned Agribusiness Enterprise
AgriBiz is aimed at accelerating the engagement of women and youth in the agribusiness sector. The programme which is funded by the European Union and Danida at a cost of KShs. 5.1 billion aims at supporting 2,400 women and youth-led agribusiness enterprises across Kenya.
We welcome youth and women in agribusiness in different parts of Kenya to apply for incubation into AgriBiz. Kindly click on the Business Incubation Hub (BIH) nearest to you and apply there. Applying in a county that is too far from your enterprise will lead to automatic disqualification.

BUNGOMA BIH
The County Government of Bungoma, one of the eight select counties has the vision of being “A hub of diversity and socio-economic development” and plans to achieve this by harnessing all potentials of the county through inclusive participation and collective responsibility to generate wealth for sustainable socio-economic development. Bungoma’s agricultural sector comprises six subsectors – crops, livestock, fisheries, irrigation, cooperatives, forestry, and lands – and employs such factors of production as land, water and farmer institutions (cooperatives, associations). KCIC is placing a call for applications to enroll women and youth Agribusiness entrepreneurs from Bungoma, Busia, Vihiga, Kakamega, Siaya and Trans Nzoia into the program. Successful applicants benefit from agribusiness entrepreneurship opportunities available within their localities as well as the other services offered within the BIHs.

MERU BIH
The County Government of Meru has the vision of being “A Green United Prosperous Model County” and plans to achieve this by facilitating sustainable development and wealth creation in the County through commerce, technological innovations and industrialization that leverages on their skilled human resources, agriculture, wildlife, bio-diversity and cultural heritage.
The County is endowed with abundant natural resources and diverse ecosystems which includes large-scale tracts of forest. Meru’s soils and climatic conditions of Meru County favor the growing of crops such as wheat, potatoes, millet, sorghum and maize. Key cash crops include tea, coffee, bananas and miraa. Groundnuts as well as different varieties of legumes, vegetables and fruits also do well. Residents also practice livestock production, poultry farming, apiculture and aquaculture. KIAMBU BIH
The County Government of Kiambu has the vision of being “the most recognized, modernized and well-organized county with equal opportunities and high standards of living for all” and plans to achieve this by improving the standard of living and welfare of its citizens, by promoting effective governance structures, providing quality services through public participation, equitable distribution of resources and fiscal responsibility.
Kiambu County is divided into four broad topographical zones covered by three broad categories of soils which are: high level upland soils, plateau soils and volcanic footbridges soils. High level upland soils are conducive for livestock keeping and growth of various cash crops and food crops such as tea, coffee, horticultural products, pyrethrum, vegetables, maize, beans, peas and potatoes. Low fertility soils are sandy or clay and can support drought resistant crops such as soya beans and sunflower as well as ranching. Volcanic footbridges soils are well drained and suited for cash crops like coffee, tea and pyrethrum. More about the county can be read on Kiambu.go.ke.
