As Gauteng 2024 Online Admissions GP Application Close What Next
Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane wishes to remind the public that the 2024 Online Admissions GP application period for Grade 1 and Grade 8 closes tomorrow Friday, 21 July 2023, at midnight. So far, over 680 000 applications have been successfully submitted.
Applicants are reminded that all documents must be submitted or uploaded by 12PM on 28 July 2023 otherwise their applications will be considered as incomplete and will forfeit preferential placement. This especially applies to Proof of Home Address.
Upon successfully completing an application, applicants must wait to receive placement offers. The placement period will begin on 4 September 2023 when the Department will begin sending out offers via SMSes until all learners are placed.
The Department has identified a number of high-pressure schools that received an overwhelming number of applications that exceed the capacity of learners that they can accommodate. Here’s a list of the Top 10 high-pressure primary and secondary schools.
Gauteng Education MEC wishes to clarify that not all applicants will immediately receive an offer offer on the first day of the placement period. Offers will be sent out continuously throughout the academic year until all learners are placed.
