Position: Junior Food Safety Internship

Location: Simondium, Western Cape

 

Babylonstoren has an exciting opportunity for Junior Food Safety Intern to join us for six months. The ideal candidate is an energetic individual who can take initiative and assist with documenting our food safety and quality management systems for food production areas on the farm. This includes ensuring that all required paperwork is in place to monitor food safety.

 

Requirements

  • BSc degree or National Diploma in Food Technology or Microbiology
  • Minimum two years’ experience in an FMCG environment focused on food safety
  • HACCP and FSSC 22000 experience would be an advantage
  • Good administration skills
  • Thoroughness and detail orientated
  • Able to work well in a diverse team

Responsibilities

  • Document control
  • Responsible for procedures and monitoring forms
  • Sorting, storing and retrieving electronic and hard-copy documents
  • Producing document progress reports
  • Conducting internal audits
  • Labelling templates and spec sheets
  • Communication at key times to facilitate food safety
