In todays NSFAS News – Many 2022 matriculants are anxiously awaiting their Nsfas application status. Blade Nzimande, Higher Education Minister, addressed student concerns.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) made many policy adjustments for the 2023 academic year last year. Late matric results have raised concerns about funding delays.
Blade Nzimande, Minister of Higher Education and Training, has informed existing and prospective tertiary students that the announcement and distribution of the matriculation results will not hinder preparation for the Post-School Education and Training 2023 academic year.
Matrix findings are expected on January 19 and 20, 2023.
Once Nsfas receives confirmation from the applicant’s chosen institution that an academic offer has been made, Nzimande will notify all candidates of their application status.
SMS, email, and myNsfas will notify students.
After matric results are posted, tertiary institutions will notify first-time Nsfas applicants who were in Grade 12 in 2022 of their acceptance.
Prospective students should keep in touch with their preferred universities via appropriate ways. From January 16 until February 20, 2023, universities began accepting applications for the 2023 academic year.
The Minister will announce the Department of Higher Education and Training’s (DHET) readiness by the end of January during Nzimande’s annual media conference after final contacts with all relevant stakeholders in the Post-School Education and Training Sector.
