What is a Bridging Programme?
A Bridging Programme refers to curricular and extra-curricular activities organised before the opening of the academic year, whose objective is to prepare new students for a successful campus life.
Why Bridging?
The Bridging Programme is meant to:
a. Provide admission opportunity to those who did not obtain sufficient credits at MSCE or its equivalent;
b. Give our prospective students a strong foundation for academic excellence;
c. Help students to become familiar with the university environment.
What are the Benefits of Bridging?
a. You don’t have to sit for university entrance examinations;
b. You learn some of the material taught in first year, thereby giving you an advantage over those who don’t attend Bridging;
c. You become familiar with our environment and way of life;
d. You create a network of friends even before the beginning of the academic year.
Who Can Apply?
Those with Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), or its equivalent, with credits in not less than four subjects including English and an aggregate of not more than thirty-four (34) points.
Application Package –Â
- Completed application form ii.
- Copy of certificate or copy of notification of results (for those who already have MSCE certificate)
- Original copy of the bank deposit slip for the non-refundable application fee
- Letter of commitment for financial support
- Passport size photograph
Application Fee
Applicants should pay a non-refundable application fee of MK10,000 (for local students) or USD25 (for foreign students).
When Will the Programme Begin?Â
The Bridging Programme will run from 18th December 2023 to 26th January, 2024.
The closing date (deadline) for receiving such applications is 30th November, 2023. Applicants will arrive on Monday, 18th December, 2023.
