So you want to make a career in the arts? You’re talented, but do you know how to file taxes, get gigs, build websites, or how to copyright original content you’ve created?

If you’re searching for a creative community, passionate about creating any type of art, unsure how to navigate the industry and need a dedicated and supportive team to help you discover and develop your identity as an artist, then you’ve come to the right place.

The Emerging Artist Fellowship (EAF) might be for you! Dunamis is excited to launch it’s Emerging Artist Fellowship program in the Spring of 2023. Our EAF program provides professional development training for emerging artists of color.

Over the course of a year, you will have access to workshops, masterclasses, social events and one-on-one coaching to help develop your artistic lens and kickstart your career as a creative entrepreneur. The list of benefits includes:

  • 4-Months of Sessions, Weekend Intensive each month from February-May

  • 8 Hours of Individual Consultation

  • Special Guest Speakers

  • Artist Headshots

  • Support in Developing a Creative Capstone Project

  • Access to Cultural Equity Incubator (Free Rehearsal/Work Space)

  • $600 Stipend

  • $300 Project Implementation Funds

Eligibility

  • Have the skill-sets to be able to confidently and intelligently navigate within the arts community.
  • Have deep clarity concerning your unique artistic voice and produced your own work.
  • Have developed strong professional and personal bonds with other creatives in the city.
  • Use your positions to increase access for other P.O.C artists to succeed.

As a fellow you will complete the following Intensive Workshops (2023 dates included):

December 15th – Orientation

February 11th – 12th: Artistic Identity/First Steps, Artist Thrive
February 25th – 26th: Money, Money/Grant Writing, Wellness
March 11th – 12th: Picture Day, The Modern Artist, Marketing & Branding
April 15th – 16th: Contracts/Copyrights, Publishing intellectual Property
April 29th – 30th:  The Perfect Pitch, Toolkit Day
May 6th-7th: Capstone Rehearsals/PresentationsIn your individualized coaching with the Dunamis team, you will outline goals for yourself and will develop a creative capstone project that will encompass all of the knowledge and perspectives you gained during the intensive.Greater still, you get to join the Dunamis family! This means you’ll have access to special events, a creative community of peers, and many more perks! Ultimately in us, you will find a home base: folks that know you, who are rooting for you, connecting you with resources, holding you accountable and will always be in your corner.
