ECDOE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WSU EMBARKS ON A RECRUITMENT DRIVE FOR UNEMPLOYED YOUTH
Eastern Cape Department of Education and Walter Sisulu University have forged a partnership for the implementation of a youth development and capacity-building program starting on August, 28th until September, 5th 2023.
This initiative is in line with pillar 4 of the Human Resource Development Strategy which seeks to promote the creation of employment opportunities for unemployed youth, giving them access to participate in the country’s economy
The signed MOU between the two entities will ensure the empowerment of the youth through: –
• A recruitment drive for all unemployed youth who aspire to be educators.
• Registration for 200 Education Assistants and General School Assistants on small business management training.
This recruitment drive is a concentrated approach employed to attract the unemployed youth into the teaching profession in line with the priorities of government.
EAs and GSA who have an interest of pursuing a teaching career are encouraged to apply WSU will deliver this service free of charge.
