THE GAUTENG DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SAFETY IS HIRING 6 000 FIT AND AGILE CRIME PREVENTION OFFICERS
Premier Panyaza today, Tuesday, 17 January, attended the crime prevention officer’s fitness & interview test at Modderbee Correctional Services, Benoni.
The Crime Prevention Officers will serve as a force multiplier in the provincial government’s crime prevention efforts. Premierhad previously announced that to fight the scourge of crime in Gauteng, young, fit and agile officers would be appointed.
To ensure that officers are fit & agile, they will undertake a fitness test as one of the recruitment criteria’s. The candidates will undertake component fitness tests that include physical activities such as running, push-ups, sit-ups, & shuttle runs, followed by the interviews.
The Eastern Corridor cohort has started with the fitness assessment at the Modderbee Correctional Services in Benoni. Over 2000 applicants who were shortlisted were assessed today. The assessment is preceded by the written interview process.
Young people who have completed parts of the physical assessment share their experience with Premier Lesufi & MEC Faith Mazibuko. These young people are committed to serving & are hopeful to form part of those who will be selected.
