Do you want to learn how to write, edit & publish articles on Wikipedia? Then this Call for Application is for you as we kick-off the decolonise the internet project by Goethe Institut Nigeria.

As a kick-off, Goethe Institut Nigeria is organizing Basic Wikipedia Modular Training to open up the world of Wikipedia to African Women! Studies have shown that most of the articles on the Wikipedia are written from Europe and the US – and articles written from Africa are mainly written by men.

Eligibility

Therefore, the aim is to encourage African Women to learn about Wikipedia and to take up the important task of adding knowledge to the world’s largest online reference that are relevant to them. This will increase visibility and representation of topics and languages which are important to both Women and Africans.

So if you want to learn how to write, edit and publish articles on the Wikipedia, then this is for you. All you need is access to a computer and a stable internet connection and you are ready to go!

VENUE

The Basic Wikipedia Modular Training will be held ONLINE in October and consist of 5 sessions that last 2 hours each from Monday to Friday.

Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email with the exact time and dates of the training sessions and all necessary information on how to participate.
