Hausa International Book and Arts Festival (HIBAF) 2022 Art Writing Workshop for Nigerians

Open Arts as a creative organisation touches the expression of passion in the creative arts as part of its mission of making a positive difference in the lives of people in the community through work of arts.

We prioritize works of art and stories from people (women, young people in villages and communities) whose voices have been excluded from the universal conversation. Using arts and culture as narratives to influence and shape the reality of life in Northern Nigeria.

Open Arts, in partnership with the Kaduna Capital Territory Authority (KCTA) and University of Bristol, as a part of the 2022 Hausa International Book and Arts Festival (HIBAF), invites applications for a free 1-day intensive art writing workshop for early and mid-career visual artists, art writers, cultural journalists, and curators, with a focus on the history and preservation of important artefacts in Kaduna City.

The workshop will focus on the theme “Kaduna City History and Preservation.”

Are you an early- or mid-career visual artist, art writer, cultural journalist, or curator with an interest in photography, art, and its different forms? If yes, then apply for our one-day intensive art and writing workshop.
