1. Assistant in information management, three months during Spring/Summer/Autumn 2023
2. Conference assistant (15.7.-15.10.2023)

We’re looking for the position of the assistant in information management a university student who is interested in learning about the Institute’s information services and information management. The intern will participate in the day-to-day work concerning the library and document management, in the library’s collection management as well as arranging and sorting of the paper archive. The intern will also during the summer have the possibility to do a small independent project based on the intern’s own interests and the need of the Institute. We hope the student has studies in information management (f.ex. information studies, information management or electronic archiving) as well as an open mind for the work in hand. Students in information management from vocational schools can also apply for the position, then the traineeship subsidy isn’t necessary. A working knowledge of Finnish is required for this position.

The tasks of the conference assistant will be related to the preparation and organisation of the international security conference Helsinki Security Forum (HSF) which FIIA is arranging in the autumn. The tasks can include, but are not limited to, keeping in touch with the speakers and guests, helping with the communication and practicalities of the event, before and during the HSF. The successful candidate needs to be fluent in English, and previous conference-related work experience is considered an asset.

The salary is 1 700e/month. In your application you must confirm that you have been granted or that you are entitled to a traineeship subsidy. Applications which do not fill the requirements will not be taken into consideration.

You can send your application to the Institute either by e-mail ([email protected] or by post (Finnish Institute for International Affairs, P.O. Box 425, 00101 Helsinki).
