How to Check and Track the Status of your HELB Loan Application
Are you a kenyan and have applied for the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) loand and you want to track and check the status of your application?
How To find out if your loan application was successful approved and loan disbursement was made, please follow the following guidelines:
- Go to the HELB webpage
- On “loan status,” click
- When you click “Disbursement,” a form displaying the status of your loan disbursement will appear.
Check the amount awarded and the date of disbursement.
As an alternative, you can check the status of your HELB loan disbursement OR application by using the HELB USSD code: *642#.

- Login
- Select the loan application and distribution process.

HELB’s objective is to provide financial support to deserving Kenyan students enrolled in higher learning institutions (approved by the Commission for University Education). Both Government Sponsored and Self Sponsored Students (SSP) are eligible for the HELB Undergraduate Loans. However, for SSP students, all the payments are done directly to the institution’s account as tuition while Government Sponsored students receive upkeep payment in their individual bank accounts and tuition payment (directly to the institution’s account) of KES. 4,000 per semester.
