To Sign up on the SFMIS platform –

New Registration

To start applying for loans, you first need to sign-up and have an account for the loan application service. This account is to be used to follow-up on your loan application status and further giving you loan details if granted one. Who can Apply for HESLGB

  • A Needy Malawian Students who have been selected to pursue or are pursuing accredited generic degree programs at a public/ private accredited University/ College
  • Students in the 1st year of study pursuing accredited ODeL degree programs at a public/private accredited University/College

What Mistakes to Avoid in Your Loan Application

  • Late submission of applications
  • Submission of incomplete loan applications
  • Failure to provide details of parents/guardians
  • Failure to provide details of siblings
  • Failure to provide supporting documents

How to apply for a LOAN (First Year ODeL Applicants)

  • Download Application Form
  • Complete Application Form
  • Attach photocopies of supporting documents

  • Send to The Executive Director, HESLGB, P/Bag B417, Capital City, Lilongwe

How to apply for a LOAN (All Generic Students)

Generic/Continuing students use this method to apply for a loan



  • Register
  • Create Account
  • Verify email address
  • Create Profile – Till it reaches 100 percent
  • Upload documents – National ID MSCE( For PVT Institutions ) Bank Deposit slips
  • Submit Loan application – You will receive a confirmation email
