KDF Latest News on Recruitment -The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) will be recruiting new members in August and September 2023, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The KDF is looking to hire General Duty Recruits, Specialist Officers, Tradesmen/Women, Defence Forces Constables, and General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets (Regular and Graduate degree holders).

Candidates for GSO Cadets and General Duty Recruits must be between the ages of 18 and 26; those applying for Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/Women must not be older than 30.

The age limit for chaplains and imams is 39 years old.

Candidates must meet the following minimal physical standards: Men must be at least 1.60 m (5 ft 3 in) while women must be at least 1.52 m (5 ft). Men must weigh at least 54.55 kg, while women must weigh at least 50.00 kg.

“During recruiting and the entire training period, female candidates must not be pregnant. The advertisement stated that candidates had to be physically fit and have healthy skin free of deep scars and tattoos.

Specialist officers and tradespeople/women should have at least two years of practical experience in their area of specialization, it was stated.

For positions as Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/Women, all interested individuals must submit an online application.

August 20, 2023, is the application cutoff date for these categories. From September 17 to September 24, 2023, the names of the shortlisted candidates will be announced in the print media.

Recruitment centers will be visited by KDF recruiting teams from the Kenya Army, Kenya Air Force, and Kenya Navy on different dates to hire General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, General Service Officer Cadets with Graduate degrees, General Duty Recruits, and Defence Forces Constabulary.

The ministry issued a warning to the general public against using unethical tactics to ‘influence’ the hiring process. It urged Kenyans to report any shady behavior to the closest police station or military outpost.

Bribery and other forms of corruption are illegal, and anyone accused of committing one will be detained and charged with a crime. KDF recruiting is completely free for everyone, according to the ministry.
