Kenya Youth Empowerment Programmes
There are various kenya youth empowerment programs the President of Kenya “Uhuru kenyatta” is running for Kenya Youths and its citizens. Here is a list of some of them and what they offer:
1. Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO)
Aims to facilitate the enterprises owned by women, youth and persons with disabilities in Kenya to be able to participate in Government opportunities.
2. Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF)
The Kenya Youth Enterprise Development Fund Provides easy and affordable financial and business development support services to youth who are keen on starting or expanding businesses.
3. Studio mashinani
A project that aims to enhance availability of accessible recording studios and enhancement of self-employment opportunities for artists in the robust creative music industry.
4. GIZ
Priorities areas are sustainable economic development, employment promotion, agriculture & food security. Activities include developing educational institutions, integrating companies into practical, cooperative vocational training schemes and supporting start-up centres.
5. National Youth Service:
Kenya National Youth Service core business is to mentor and train Kenya’s youth through paramilitary and regimentation, national building programs and technical and vocational training in various skills and trades.
6. Kazi mtaani
The National Hygiene Program (NHP), dubbed Kazi Mtaani, is a national initiative that designed to cushion the most vulnerable but able-bodied Kenyan citizens living in informal settlements from the effects and response strategies of the COVID-19 pandemic.
