In a few weeks, matriculation results may disappoint some pupils. The Basic Education Department has thankfully opened registration for 2022 Matriculation Exam retakes.
Some Grade 12 pupils who took the 2022 matriculation exams failed. Thus, the DBE’s Second Chance Matric Programme is accepting 2022 Matric Rewrite applications.
This program is for non-SC/NSC holders. Anyone can join the program to improve.
Last October, Minister Angie Motshekga told the National Council of Provinces that the program has helped at least 400 000 learners “get their subject passes towards their NSC or SC certificate.”
The DBE claims this effort improves students’ graduation rates, technology skills, and career and training opportunities.
The National Senior Certificate or State Certificate can also lead to a 12th grade equivalency certificate. College scholarships exist. Registration ends February 8, 2023.
Candidates can register for the exam on the department’s website https://www.eservices.gov.za/ or at their local district office by bringing copies of the following items.
- Birth certificate or ID
- Residency Verification
- Latest high school performance data
The program provides online and offline study tools, face-to-face tutoring, and remote help.
Based on diagnostic data, the program accelerates the creation of classroom LTSMs to address students’ most common academic weaknesses.
Registration ends February 8, 2023.
