KMTC Breaking News Today – Ministry of Health Principal Secretary Commends KMTC’s Commitment to Quality Healthcare and Innovation.During a visit to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) prior to the scheduled launch of the KMTC Strategic Plan 2023-2028 on November 9, 2023, in Nairobi, the Health Principal Secretary of the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Ms. Mary Muriuki, commended the College’s commitment to bolstering accessibility to health services.
Speaking before the 74 Campus Principals from across the country, she praised KMTC’s unwavering dedication to quality healthcare training.
Ms. Muriuki also lauded the management for their significant strides in training healthcare professionals and their embrace of digitalization. She stated, “I am pleased with KMTC’s digitalization strategy, which is pivotal in increasing applicant uptake and ensuring the highest quality training.
This initiative aligns with the government’s focus on preventive health and expanding access to primary healthcare services.”The PS encouraged the Principals, emphasizing the essence of public service, and challenged them to be innovative and leverage digitization for the College’s sustainability. She further added, “KMTC plays a vital role in expanding access to quality healthcare. Let’s remain committed to improving healthcare accessibility and sustaining the progress.”
Mr. Joseah Kiplagat, the KMTC Board Chairperson, who was also present during the meeting, expressed gratitude for the government’s support and affirmed, “The College is dedicated to supporting the Ministry and the Government in developing fit-for-purpose health professionals, ensuring quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare for all.”CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch emphasized KMTC’s global focus, stating, “We are committed to training healthcare professionals for the global market, with a strong emphasis on generating new knowledge through research and innovation. Our new strategic plan focuses on these key areas, ensuring that our graduates meet international standards.”
Additionally, the CEO highlighted KMTC’s efforts to enhance the application process, making it more responsive.
