New Board Directors Appointed to KMTC

H.E. President William Ruto, Ph. D., in a gazette notice dated August 18, 2023, appointed Mr. Joseah Kiplangat Cheruiyot as the Chairperson of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Board of Directors for three years, effectively replacing Amb. Zachary Muburi-Muita, who held the position since October 2021.
At the same time, Health Cabinet Secretary Ms. Susan Nakhumicha, appointed Mr. Paul Kaino Cheboi, Ms. Eunice Wangui Karanja, Ms. Hardlyne Lusui, and Eng. Joseph Ouma Atonga to serve on the College’s Board for a period of three years. The four replace Dr. Naomi Kathure, Dr. Stephen Ochiel, Ms. Jeniffer Kibagendi, and Mr. Fredrick Wamwaki.
Upon receiving the news, KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed members of the Board.
He stated, “As KMTC stands at the cusp of its centenary celebrations, with a legacy dating back to 1927, the appointment of Mr. Joseah Kiplangat Cheruiyot as the Chairperson and the new Board of Directors is a pivotal moment in our journey.”
The CEO noted that their collective expertise and dedication arrive at a time when the College is poised to launch its ambitious five-year strategic plan, spanning from 2023 to 2028.
“With their guidance, we are confident in advancing our mandate to provide quality education and transformative healthcare solutions to Kenyans,” he said.
