The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) is now accepting applications for its 2020 Scholars Program. .We welcome applications from motivated students with a true passion for leadership and personal development.
The program provides undergraduates with a range of opportunities designed to aid them in long term career development. Each year we work with our partner universities to identify a cohort of talented students to participate in our fellowship class.The NHEF Scholars program provides undergraduates with the opportunity to work in leading companies in the following sectors:
Financial services, Engineering, Law , Technology ,Consulting.
NHEF Scholars represent a select cohort of students from each of our partner universities. They have demonstrated academic excellence and well-roundedness in both professional and extracurricular pursuits. We expect our scholars to be fully devoted to community Service, philanthropy and making a lasting impact in society.
Through this program, they will become successful future employees with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities attached to their industry of choice. As of 2019, we achieved the milestone of nearly 200 scholars , and we hope to develop even more promising Nigerian students in the future.
The NHEF Scholars program is open to students in their penultimate year at our partner universities. Eligibility varies depending on your course of study. However, if you are not certain, we recommend that you submit an application and await our feedback.
Partner Universities
The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation’s initial effort is geared toward providing its programs to support five top universities in Nigeria:
Ahmadu Bello University is West Africa’s largest university with 81 academic departments, 35,000 students, and 500,000 alumni. The University is also identified as a first class Architecture School and innovator in Agriculture research.
Bayero University is Nigeria’s leading academic institution for Cultural Studies. In the last decade, the University has focused its efforts on developing science programs in engineering, medicine, and recently, agriculture.
University of Ibadan is Nigeria’s oldest university and has become internationally recognized for its strong Social Science faculty and College of Medicine. It is now designated a post-graduate university training thousands to meet the needs of the labor market.
University of Nigeria, Nsukka was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria, and is the first indigenous university in Nigeria. The University has a Space Research Center founded in 1972 remains one of the few institutions in Africa that researches and offers courses in astronomy both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
University of Lagos is among the first generation of universities in Nigeria with enrolment strength of over 40,000 students and staff strength of 3,365 across Administrative, Technical and Academic positions. The University has built a legacy of excellence and is known as a Centre for academic research.
University of Port Harcourt is a second-generation Federal University located in the Niger Delta region. Initially, the academic disciplines of the University were organized in six schools of study; it is now a traditional academic structure of faculty and departmental system with a strong focus in petroleum engineering.
