Npower 2016,2017 beneficiaries exit & Transition
The covid-19 pandemic has thrown up huge challenges that has impacted us negatively across the spectrum from our health to the economy and taken a serious humanitarian toll on our lives.
As we battle the pandemic, it is our duty, as public servants in government to intervene where needed by continuing to provide the lifeline for continuity as government continues its acceleration towards providing an enabling environment for businesses to create sustainable jobs.
This is the major reason why we have commenced enrollment of Batch C. which is providing opportunities for Nigerian youths to gain skills for employability and entrepreneurship. It is also providing a pipeline of skilled workers to help rebuild the economy .
In 48 hours. over 1,000,000 young men and women like you submitted their applications on the portal in their bid to gain an opportunity of participating in the N-Power programme. That opportunity will be denied them if we do not create the space for them to take part.
So the transitioning and exit of Batch A & B which begins today, June 30 and which terminates on July 3 is not a punitive action. It is rather a proactive intervention to help up-skill your brothers and sisters and assist them further along on their journey through life.
At the last count, about 109,823 beneficiaries from batch A and B have gone on to set up business in their communities,underlining and highlighting the impact and imperative of the npower programme.
I want to thank the outgoing npower beneficiaries of batches A and B for their service .You have been worthy ambassadors of National social investment programmes and i look forward to hearing of and meeting many if you in the future.
We will be in touch in the coming days to explain the details of your transitioning and exit.We will also be communicating other details. As the Batch C application and enrollment continues. I await more success stories of positive impact from young men and women who remain the hope and future of this country.
