NSFAS Back To Implementing Direct Payment System

In todays latest NSFAS News – The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is responsible for disbursing financial aid to university students based on the registration data received from institutions.
NSFAS has successfully disbursed allowances to 143,423 beneficiaries at TVET colleges for the month of October, with a total amount of R681,051,078.

To date, a total of 314,365 University students have received payments, amounting to a sum of R511,182,438 Million . This included tuition payments totaling R1,602,289,873, Allowances paid via institutions of R1,073 197 301.

NSFAS is working closely will all institutions to implement the reforms that are brough by the implementation of the direct payment solution. This will ensure that allowances are paid to students on time. Consultations all institutions will also continue in preparation for the academic year 2024.

NSFAS wishes all students from all institutions well in their final year examinations. NSFAS also extends well wishes to all matriculants who also began with the final examinations this week. NSFAS remains prepared to welcome these learners who qualify for a bursary in terms of the NSFAS bursary criteria.
