NSFAS News – With the academic year well and truly underway, many students will need to purchase essential supplies to aid their learning and ensure their academic success.

Previously, Nsfas revealed that they have begun processing allowances to the institutions.
They said, “All official communication has been sent to all institutions on the allowance payment process. The institutions that have complied with the 2022 approved NSFAS Eligibility Criteria and Conditions for Financial Aid will receive payment from NSFAS”.
NSFAS said that initiations must abide by the funding rules set out in the scheme’s Eligibility Criteria and Conditions for Financial Aid when disbursing money to students.
A Nsfas bursary pays a deserving student’s tuition in full. The bursary also provides students with money for textbooks, accommodation costs, food, transport, learning materials and registration fees.
These students must meet all the qualifying criteria and must be attending either a public university or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges.
Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande declared that Nsfas does have the budgetary capabilities to fund all the deserving applicants. This comes after around 900 000 applications for funding were received by Nsfas for the 2022 academic year.
