Pace Pan-African Creative Exchange Programme 2020 for Africa artists and creatives( to South Africa)


Pace is currently accepting applications for our three-day, interdisciplinary, biannual arts market from African artists, based on the continent.


Selected artists will present high-quality work to international and national presenters, programmers, producers and peers.

If you are based on the African continent and are looking to research and develop new work, the showcase will take place in Bloemfontein, South Africa, 25-28 June 2019.

Key Eligibility Criteria:

Work must be either: tour ready, a work-in-progress or a concept in early stages of development
For PACE 2020, we have opened our applications to a limited number of shows that include African diaspora voices and artists whose work is responding to contemporary African themes. You can apply to PACE if you are/respond to the following: 1) are based on the continent 2) identify as part of the African diaspora or 3) have work that responds to contemporary African themes.

Please note that there is no fee to participate in the showcase. Artists will be compensated with technical support, a venue, and access to industry delegates. Artists are expected to cover their own travel, accommodation, and visa expenses. PACE does not provide monetary compensation to artists at this time. However, we are happy to supply letters of support for artist-led funding applications.

October 2019 Selection panel meets

November 2019: Applicants notified of the decision

February 2020: Visa deadline – artists, to confirm receipt of visa

February 2020: Programme announced

25-28 June 2020: PACE 2020 showcase.
