Probation and Aftercare Service Receives 52 PSIP Cohort V Interns

Probation and Aftercare Service begun receiving the 52 new #PSIPCohortV Interns deployed by Public Service Commission Kenya for a period of one year under the Public Service Internship Programme.

The interns will be stationed in Probation Offices across the country where they will get an opportunity to learn and experience probation work under the supervision of experienced officers.

Probation work entails conducting of social inquiries, assessment of offenders, and preparation of reports for decision making on sentencing or placement.

It also involves community corrections, where offenders serving various non-custodial measures are supervised, rehabilitated, reintegrated and resettled to society Coordinating the reception at the Probation Headquarters is Deputy Director of Probation Service, Mr. Kennedy Odipo
