SARETEC Renewable Energy Training Energy Workshop Assistance Program for South Africans
Official Call for applications to attend training on Renewable Energy Workshop Assistants
The South African Renewable Energy Technology Centre (SARETEC) through an Energy and Water Sector Education Training Authority (EWSETA) grant is recruiting 50 learners to train as Renewable Energy Workshop Assistants.
The Learners should be coming from the following surrounding areas:
• Northern Cape (50 learners) (Residents from Keimoes, Kakamas, Prieska, Kenhardt, Kathu, Upington.)
Any unemployed person, who is medically fit and has passed Grade 9 to Grade 12 can be trained in this Skills Program and will be eligible to join the workforce of the various Renewable Energy projects whilst in its development and establishment phase, which is generally not less than 12 months.
Documents Required for the programme:
- Certified Copy of ID (certify copy should not be older than 3 months)
- Proof of Highest Qualification Past (certified copy should not be older than 3 months)
- Proof of Subjects and or standard passed is required and should be attached to the application.
Course Outline:
1. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Working at Heights and First Aid
2. Workplace Essential Skills
3. Renewable Energy Workshop Assistant
Duration:17 weeks
When selected, the following will be compulsory:
Learners will be required to attend all the training sessions in order to receive a certificate. Failure to attend any of the lessons/ sessions, valid proof will have to be submitted.
An attendance register will be used to monitor the attendance of all learners. Each learner will need to have a portfolio of evidence (logbook) in order to monitor and record the assessments leading to the certification process.
Closure of call
Applications for the skills program must be received on or not later than the 23rd November 2022. Only emailed applications will be accepted and acknowledged. All applications must be emailed to [email protected]
Selected candidates will be notified via email within a period of two weeks. If you don’t receive a notification within three weeks after the closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
Note: The Training Program is aimed at the youth (18- 35 years). Both male and female Youths are encouraged to apply. A 50:50 ratio on gender will apply subject to the submitted applications.
NB: Communication will only be released to successful candidates.
