SASSA R350 Grant Status – What Does ‘Aug Declined’ Mean

Since the beginning of August 2021, more than 13 million people have applied for the special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress grant. More than 8.3 million grant applications were successful.

Of these applications, over 3.7 million SRD Grant Applications were denied by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).

SASSA has started with the SRD grant payments. If you have checked your grant status, and it says ‘Aug declined’. This, unfortunately, means that your R350 SRD grant application was declined.

If you believe you are eligible for the R350 grant, you can apply for your denied application to be reviewed and reconsidered.

Follow the steps listed below:

Visit the SRD Website: http://srd.sassa.gov.za

Step 1: Find the Application for Reconsideration tab.
Step 2: Click on where it says ‘click here to apply for reconsideration’.
Step 3: You will be asked to provide your ID number and Mobile number.
Step 4: Follow the prompts to complete the reconsideration of your payment.

President Ramaphosa says the special Covid-19 R350 SRD grant, along with other mechanisms is aimed at providing unemployed South Africans with critical assistance during this difficult time.
