Sassa Warn Against Fake News

In todays latest SASSA News: Sassa has warned its beneficiaries against sharing their personal details to unknown organisations, particularly concerning messages that are spread on social media. Here are more details on how you can contact Sassa through its official channels.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has warned grant beneficiaries against a false message that has been circulating on social media.

The message appears to have been sent from the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature and claims that Sassa is offering R700 monthly vouchers for children aged 0-5. They also claimed that SRD grant beneficiaries could benefit from the voucher.

Sassa has confirmed that the circulating message is fake and has strongly cautioned grant beneficiaries not to share their personal details to people who represent themselves as Sassa officials.

We urge people to never give their IDs to anyone who poses as a Sassa official & when in doubt, they must visit SASSA offices to confirm or call 0800601011.
