CONTRACT WORKER’S POSTS X20: WITBANK MANAGEMENT AREA
TAILORING /SEWING (TWELVE MONTHS CONTRACT)[20 POSTS]
SALARY: R220 533.00 PER ANNUM (PLUS 37% IN LIEU OF BENEFITS) LIMPOPO, MPUMALANGA AND NORTH WEST REGION:

Witbank Management Area: Witbank Correctional Centre (Ref: LMN 2023/08/01)

Requirements:

Matric or equivalent qualification and 5 years’ working experience and exposure in textile industry will be an added advantage. Skills in facilitation assessor and moderation will also be an added advantage. Computer literate.

Working knowledge of sewing machine mechanics. Outstanding eyesight or utilisation of corrective measures. Innovative, thoughtful, and attentive to detail, interpersonal skills. Ability to manage your time effectively.

Responsibilities:

Industrial sewing machine operator, construct, alter attire and other pieces. Use patterns, intuition, or both, depending on each task’s specifications.
To improve productivity. Pattern cutting, laying out and cutting fabric, basic seams allowances and stitching, to join garment/clothes, lining, basting and gathering, top stitching, darts, buttonholes, lapped zip, hem, and reinforce materials using an industrial sewing machine. Select a pattern for sewing, determine what type of fabric to
use, and adjust equipment to ensure it is capable of creating the intended product.
