South African Council for Educators (SACE) Levy Increase
Last year, November 2021, SACE resolved to increase the Educators’ monthly levy from R15.00 ( Fifteen Rand) to R16.50 (Sixteen Rand and Fifty Cents) with effect from 01 April 2022. Due to the challenges experienced, there were delays in the implementation of the decision, which therefore led to the monthly accumulation of R1.50 (One Rand and Fifty Cents) from 01 April 2022 until 31st October 2022.
Council therefore wishes to announce that during this month of November 2022, there will be a once – off deduction of R10.50 (Ten Rand and Fifty Cents), to recover the accumulated monthly premiums which were never deducted from 01 April 2022 to 31st October 2022 . During the month of December 2022 onwards, there will be only the normal membership deduction of R16,50 (Sixteen Rand and Fifty cents).
