The Financial Management Skills Programme for Young Gauteng Graduates 2023
The Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) and the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWETA) have joined forces to create an exciting opportunity for young graduates in Gauteng.
The Financial Management Skills Programme aims to equip recent finance graduates with practical experience, enabling them to apply their academic knowledge, develop a deep understanding of finance operations, and make valuable contributions to projects within the NGO sector. This 12-month program offers a range of unique opportunities, including funding, employment prospects with reputable NGOs and ECD centres, mentorship from experienced professionals, and exposure to work readiness initiatives.
The Financial Management Skills Programme provides selected candidates with access to funding and financial support throughout the duration of the programme. This ensures that participants can focus on their learning and development without the burden of financial constraints. Moreover, the programme opens up employment opportunities with well-established NGOs and ECD centres that are funded by the Department of Social Development (DSD) and the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE). By working in these organizations, graduates will gain hands-on experience and contribute to the meaningful work carried out in the NGO sector. One of the invaluable aspects of the Financial Management Skills Programme is the mentorship offered by experienced professionals in the finance field. This mentorship fosters personal and professional growth, allowing young graduates to develop their skills and gain insights from those with extensive practical experience. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to engage in various work readiness initiatives, further enhancing their professional skills and preparing them for successful careers in finance.
To be eligible for the Financial Management Skills Programme, applicants must:
• Be recent graduates from a TVET college or university with a finance-related qualification.
• Be Gauteng residents.
• Have completed matric from a school in Gauteng.
• Possess a genuine passion for pursuing a career in finance.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Be younger than 35 years old, and not turn 36 or older during the program.
The Financial Management Skills Programme provides a platform for young graduates to kickstart their careers in finance while contributing to the development of the NGO sector. By bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical experience, the program equips participants with the necessary skills to excel in the finance industry.
