Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB): Student Loan Scheme for the Academic Year 2021/2022 CONTINUING STUDENTS CAN NOW APPLY
Uganda Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB) 2021/2022 Loan Scheme Application
The HESFB disburses fees to the successful Needy Students. Upon Completion of Studies, students are offered a Grace Period of 12 months after which the maximum repayment period is twice the study period.
The Loan only covers the Direct costs (academic component), i.e., Tuition fees, Functional fees, Research fees, Aids and Appliances for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
A student loan beneficiary is expected to cater for their welfare expenses (accommodation, feeding, medical care, scholastic materials) and any other expenses required by the student.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be Ugandan.
- Applicant must be in their Final year of studies.
- Pursuing any of the HESFB’s approved STEM programmes or Program approved under affirmative Action.
- To be studying from any Of the approved HEls i.e. All Public Universities. all Chartered Private Universities, all Listed OTIs.
- Applicant must demonstrate a financial need
Applicant shall be appraised under the Means Testing instrument
Uganda Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB) 2021/2022 Loan Scheme Application Loan
a) Offline Application: Eligible applicants should get hard copy of the application form from the participating Universities; Office of the Academic Registrar; or from any Centenary Bank Branch across the country.
b) Online Application: Eligible applicants should register and apply online for the Higher Education Students’ Financing Loan on the Higher Education Students’ Financing Board’s website http://www.hesfb.go.ug/ilmis
Submission of Application Forms
On completing the application form, offline applicants are required to submit their application forms to any branch of Centenary Bank and upon payment of Ugx. 50,000 (Uganda Shillings Fifty Thousand Only) as non-refundable processing fees.
On completing the application form, online applicants are required to submit their application forms online upon payment of Ugx. 52,200 (Uganda Shillings Fifty Two Thousand Two Hundred Only) as non-refundable processing fees.
Please note that the Pay-in Bank Slip should be properly kept and will form the first level Loan Application acknowledgement receipt.
Please ensure that you read the application form carefully and attach /scan all the relevant documents as spelt out in the form.
