UIF To Shut Down Financial Services This Week

In todays latest UIF News – The relief provided by the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) ensures that workers who are unable to work receive some financial support.

The UIF has announced that its financial services will be shut down this coming week. They explained that the shutdown is due to financial year-end closure processors.

“The UIF’’s financial systems will be shut down from 24 March 2022 to 31 March 2022 due to the financial year-end closure processes”, explained the fund.

The shutdown means that no new claims for normal benefits will be captured and paid during this period.

Payment of normal benefits approved before 24 March 2022 will be done before the aforementioned date, while new claims will be captured and processed from 1 April 2022.

The shutdown will however not affect Covid-19 Temporary Employer/Employee Relief Scheme (TERS) and WABU claims that are already in the system.

“Covid-19 TERS and WABU claims already in the system will be processed and queued for payment once the system re-opens on 1 April 2022”, said the fund.
