Umalusi Approves 2022 Matric Results
Umalusi’s Quality Assurance Body will publish the 2022 National Senior Certificate (NSC) Exams. The Department of Basic Education will release the National Science Competition (NSC) results this week (DBE).
Umalusi said the examinations went well. The abnormalities were limited, therefore the 2022 NSC exams were unaffected.
All candidates involved in irregularities should be disqualified. Before proceeding, the DBE and Umalusi will investigate.
The 2022 NSC exams attracted more high school seniors than before. The DBE reported that 923,460 students—full- and part-time—took the final exams that year.
Standardization reduces variables other than student knowledge, skills, and aptitude on student performance. Grade 12 exam scores are sometimes altered for student and instructor issues.
After considering these considerations, stakeholders may vote to boost or lower course grades.
47 subjects passed (Accounting, English home language, Mathematical literacy, Physical Sciences)
16 subjects raised (History and mathematics)
Statement to approve the release of results:
Having studied all the evidence presented, the Executive Committee (EXCO)
of Umalusi Council concluded that the examinations were administered largely in accordance with the Regulations Pertaining to the Conduct, Administration and Management of the National Senior Certificate Examination. The irregularities identified during the writing and marking of the examinations, were not systemic and therefore did not compromise the overall credibility and integrity of the November 2022 National Senior Certificate examinations administered by the Department of Basic Education (DBE). The Executive Committee of Council therefore approves the release of the DBE November 2022 National Senior Certificate examinations results.
