Unable to Withdraw Your SRD Grant At Supermarkets ?

SASSA r350 grant latest news todaySome R350 grant recipients who collect their grant at supermarkets might find that its unavailable when they head to stores to collect it. Here is the reason why.

When it comes to the R350 grant, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has made it such that beneficiaries can collect their Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payments from the Post Office as well as supermarkets.

However, it seems that the supermarket option may not be entirely available if you used your phone to apply for more than one grant.

Sassa explained the following:

Withdraw your R350 from Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, Shoprite, and Usave supermarkets.  Not available if your phone was used to apply for more than one grant.

The Shoprite Group has now made it possible for R350 grant holders to fetch their SRD grant payments at any of their 1 286 supermarkets across South Africa, which include Checkers, USave, OK and Shoprite stores.

This is in addition to beneficiaries being able to collect their SRD grants at PicknPay and Boxer Superstores. You will not be able to collect your grants at BP Pick n Pay Express, Pick n Pay Clothing and Pick n Pay Liquor stores.

You would need to provide your ID and cellphone number. Beneficiaries need to ensure that this must be the same cellphone number that they used to register on the Sassa database, as a confirmation pin will be sent to this number to prevent fraud.
