In todays latest UNEB News – Normal registration deadline extended to 7th June, 2023 The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has extended the period of normal registration to 7′. June 2023, to accommodate more candidates that had not been able to register by the end on the initial deadline of 31. May, 2023.
Heads of Centres are hereby notified that it is possible to register additional candidates even after submission of the main list of candidates.
Parents of candidates as well as head teachers are urged to make use of the extension period and register all the potential candidates to ensure that no learner is left out.
By the end of the initial normal registration deadline, 96% of the expected Centres for Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) had registered candidates. At secondary level, 91.2 % and 86% of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) Centres respectively, had registered candidates.
This translates to a total of One million, one hundred sixty five thousand, one fifty nine candidates (1,165,159).registered so far for all the three levels. 20, 656 Centres are expected to register candidates this year.
Following the extension, schools now have until June 7, to register candidates without paying a surcharge.
PLE candidates who will register from June 8-30 will pay a surcharge of 100%, while UCE and UACE candidates will pay a 50% surcharge. In the final and last phase of late registration, candidates who will register in July 2023 will have to pay a surcharge of 100%, at each of the levels.
Beyond July 31, schools will not be able to register any candidates. Schools also have until July 31, to make amendments to the submitted data without any surcharge.
