University of Canterbury (UC) International Prospective Students Scholarships 2020-2021

Call for applications – University of Canterbury (UC) International Prospective Students Scholarships 2020-2021 for full-fee-paying international students who will be studying towards an undergraduate degree at the University of Canterbury in 2021.

The UC International Prospective Students Scholarships 2021 round includes the following scholarships:

• Kuching Malaysian Alumni Scholarship – This scholarship recognizes and supports top students from the Kuching Division, Sarawak, Malaysia who are studying in an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Canterbury.

Closing date : 31 October
Value: $10,000
Tenure: One year
Number available annually: One
Applicable programme during tenure: Full-time enrolment in a programme for an undergraduate degree at the University.
Special requirements • Applicants must have been born in the Kuching Division, Sarawak, Malaysia and/or have attended a primary or secondary school in the
Kuching Division for at least five years.
• Applicants must be citizens of Malaysia.1 They cannot also be citizens of
New Zealand or Australia, holders of New Zealand residence class visas,
or Australian Permanent Residents.

• Tan Sri Datuk Oh Siew Nam P.S.M., P.J.N. Malaysian Scholarship – This scholarship recognises and supports top students from Malaysia who are studying in an
  undergraduate degree programme at the University of Canterbury

Value: $20,000
Tenure: One year
Number available annually: One
Applicable programme during tenure:  Full-time enrolment in a programme for an undergraduate degree at the University.
Special requirements Applicants must be citizens of Malaysia. They cannot also be citizens of New Zealand or Australia, holders of New Zealand residence class visas, or
Australian Permanent Residents.

• The UC College of Engineering International Scholarship– This scholarship recognises top international scholars and supports them in study towards an
  undergraduate Engineering degree at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Closing date • 15 August (for those who are studying in New Zealand at that
date)
• 31 October (for those who are studying overseas at that date)
• 1 March (for those who will be first enrolling for the following
Semester 2 or for Summer School)
Value: $15,000
Tenure: One year
Number available annually: 35
Applicable enrolment during tenure: Full-time enrolment in any year of a programme for a BE(Hons) degree.
Special requirement • Recipients must be full-fee-paying international students.1
• Applicants may not be:
a. citizens of New Zealand or Australia; or
b. permanent residents of Australia; or
c. holders of New Zealand residence class visas.

• The UC International First Year Scholarship (Offshore) – This scholarship recognises and supports top-achieving international students commencing an
  undergraduate degree programme at the University of Canterbury.

Closing date • 15 April • 31 October
Value: $15,000
Tenure: One year
Number available annually :Seven
Applicable enrolment during tenure: Full-time enrolment in a first year of a programme for an undergraduate degree.
Special requirements • Recipients must be full-fee-paying international students.1
• Applicants may not be:
a. citizens of New Zealand or Australia;
b. Permanent Residents of Australia; or
c. holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
