University of South Africa (Unisa) Postpones Graduation Ceremonies
UNISA news today – Unisa Students who were looking to graduate with the university’s current graduation period are in for a bit of discouraging news, following the university’s recent announcement regarding upcoming graduation ceremonies.
It appears that Unisa graduates will have to wait for a while longer for their special day. This comes after the university’s recent announcement that upcoming graduation ceremonies will be postponed until Monday 28 March 2022.
The University of South Africa (Unisa) regrets to inform graduate designates and all stakeholders that the graduation ceremonies will be further postponed until Monday, 28 March 2022.
This is due to the ongoing impasse between the university’s management and organised labour regarding salary adjustments by the university’s council.
Unisa further stated that while the issue has since been resolved they to take into account the declaration by Organised Labour that the industrial action will only be ceased when the employees have received the payment.
The labour dispute between Unisa and the National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) resulted in the suspension of graduation ceremonies after protesting members of the labour union shut down the university during a graduation event on Tuesday this past week.
