We Pay R6,000 Monthly Stipend To Crime Prevention Wardens – Panyaza Lesufi

Gauteng Department of Community Safety has denied claims that it has failed to pay the R6,000 monthly stipend due to its crime prevention wardens.

Panyaza Lesufi, the premier of Gauteng, appointed the wardens in April. They have the responsibility of helping the police prevent crime along the province’s five major routes.

The provincial Department of Community Safety informed Eyewitness News in a brief statement that the wardens’ monthly stipends had been paid.

The announcement also stated that some wardens will complete their training while receiving their stipends. At least three of the wardens who talked with Eyewitness News confirmed that they have been getting their stipends since April.
