Young Enterprise Initiative (YEI) Start in France Accelerator Program 2019/2020 (Funded to Paris)

The YEi Start in France program, founded in 2005, is an accelerator for young science-based companies interested in growing their business in France and Europe.

YEi Start in France provides a personalized immersion week in France including training sessions, networking and one-on-one meetings that will allow each laureate to benefit from an extensive customized business network and connections to the best resources in Europe.

In 2018, American, Finnish, Italian, South Korean and Taiwanese companies were eligible to apply. In 2019-2020, American, Canadian, Italian, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, South African, Taiwanese and Singaporean companies are now eligible to the program.

Eligibility
General conditions of eligibility
You are eligible if :

1. You are established in one of the following places: USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Norway, South Africa, Singapore or Taiwan

2. You are young :

your project is in its early-stage of development (seed-phase or series A)

3. You are deeptech: your project is based on a scientific discovery, an advanced technology, a complex engineering process or an innovative application of an existing technology- Your idea is really innovative in the way that your project lies in the latest international state of the art

4. You are developing a new technology based on Artificial intelligence in any industry

5. You are not a giant yet: a team of at least two working on the project but fewer than 30 employees and less than $2 million in annual revenue

Program Benefits

The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and its partners offer YEi Start in France laureates intensive training and a one-week immersion program in France. This immersion program is held in Paris.

The YEi Start in France program includes several types of support to start in France :

Intensive Training
Get to know the French research and innovation environment.

Learn how to do business in France.

  • Funding strategy.
  • Legal, fiscal, and financial sessions.
  • Research tax credit process.
  • Creating a branch in France.

Mentoring and Coaching
Mentoring by experienced business people.

Meeting with the open innovation team of a large corporation.

  • Mentoring by experienced business people with successful international partnerships.
  • One on one meetings with potential partners, research centers, incubators, etc.
  • Networking events with VCs, international French leaders, etc.

One Week in France
Personalized meetings to identify opportunities.

Travel and accommodation in Paris and selected city.

  • Access to a dedicated project manager to personalize and tailor your business trip overseas.
  • Visit of the best competitiveness cluster for your business.
  • Round-trip ticket, accommodation and transportation in France.
