NEWS – YOUTH PARLIAMENT, NYCN COMMEND FED GOVT OVER YOUTH INVESTMENT FUND (NYIF)
The Federal Government is totally unwavering in its commitment to ensuring that youths realize their aspirations and entrepreneurship through the National Youth Investment Fund, recently approved by President Mohamnadu Buhari.
According to Youth and Sports Development Minister Mr Sunday Dare , Youths would benefit by investing in innovative ideas, skills, talents and enterprise for national development.
The Minister made these assertions when he hosted a delegation of the Nigeria Youth Parliament led by its Speaker, Hon. Mubarak Mijinyawa in Abuja.
While promising to deliver a “Thank You’’ message of the delegation to the President for establishing the NYIF , Mr. Dare informed the parliamentarians that the NYIF stood out amongst several initiatives by the Federal Government to invest in their talents, combat unemployment, drive innovation, fuel entrepreneurship as well as support SMEs. He said the D.E.E.L programme by the Ministry which encompasses digital training for the youths was making great impact with thousands of youths already trained to become employers of labour.
The Minister further assured the youths of the Federal Government’s MDAs programmes for empowerment and promotion of diverse vocational skills and occupations.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Gabriel Aduda commended the Nigeria Youth Parliament for deeming it fit to say a big ‘Thank You” to Mr President for approving the establishment of the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund with a courtesy visit to the Minister.
The Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Hon. Mubarak Mijinyawa stated that their visit was informed by the need to express sincere appreciation to Mr President for approving the setting up of NYIF and to also commend the Minister’s dynamism and resourcefulness. Hon. Mijinyawa appealed to the Ministry to organize another sitting for the Youth Parliament
In a related development, the Executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) led by its President, Amb. Sukubo S. Sukubo also visited the Minister to express similar appreciation on the establishment of NYIF.
The Minister admonished the youths to avail themselves of the opportunities of NYIF to enhance their socio – economic status. He emphasised that NYCN had a critical role in educating the youths on the profitable opportunities inherent in NYIF.
